Jay Lane is Founder and CEO of The Jawbox Jerky Company. He is a 10-year veteran of the executive search industry where he has been deeply involved in recruiting key executives for fast-growing private equity backed companies across the United States. A large number of his clients are in the consumer goods space which helped fuel his passion to start Jawbox with co-founder, Devin Beck in 2014. Jay has a passion for the Jawbox brand and enjoys working closely with the athletes who are fueled by their jerky.
Jay earned his undergraduate degree while on an athletic and academic football scholarship at Western New England University, where he was a four-year varsity letterman.
He is deeply involved with the University of Colorado and The University of Denver Mentorship Programs. He also sits on the Board of the Jamie Beck Family Foundation.
Devin Beck is Co-Founder and the Chief Artisan Chef of The Jawbox Jerky Company. He brings over 15 years of premium restaurant culinary training experience and is responsible for the flavor profiles and quality of the brand. He completed his culinary training at a young age and has a passion for providing high quality flavors to his clients, family & friends. Devin believes in creating recipes using locally sourced, unique ingredients that provide nutrition and flavor.
Devin is an extreme sports enthusiast with a passion for snowboarding, mountain biking and hiking. He has hiked multiple Colorado 14’ers while eating Jawbox Jerky. He is originally from Canada.
Dustin brings more than a decade of experience in operations management, analytics and strategy consulting to the Jawbox Jerky Company. Having held leadership and key contributor roles in rapid-growth emerging businesses, large publically traded companies, as well as founding his own real estate venture, Dustin brings a wide range of knowledge and expertise to the leadership team. As a former athlete and basketball coach, he has a passion for high quality nutrition and ensuring athletes are functioning at their peak potential.
Dustin holds graduate degrees from Colorado State University (Econometrics) and Villanova University (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt). He earned his undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
In addition to his current role, Dustin serves as President & Chairman of the Board for Mountain Vista Gold Crown Basketball and is an investor and ambassador to Unseen, a non-profit organization that fights human trafficking.
Matt has had a rich career as an accomplished high tech executive and entrepreneur. Matt currently serves as the Founder and President of Lone Star Ranch as well as the Chairman and CEO of SafeSplash Holdings. Lone Star Ranch is a boutique cattle ranch that raises all natural, grass-fed Angus beef for select customers, including JawBox Jerky and restaurants around the rocky mountain region. SafeSplash Swim School is a global franchisor of warm water swim schools. SafeSplash, a national partner with Nike, LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness is the fastest growing and largest brand in the industry with over 100 locations nationwide. Prior to founding SafeSplash, Matt founded Water Sage, a big data analytics engine for investment funds targeting the energy, agriculture and water industries. Matt’s corporate experience includes Senior Vice President of Technicolor’s Digital Delivery Group, a global leader in systems used for visual effects, encoding, archiving, management and delivery of digital video and digital home applications and Managing Director of Hewlett-Packard’s Media and Entertainment business where he lead HP’s focus on the cable, satellite, telecom and digital media industries as well as their “Game On” group focused on the online gaming market.
Tom Wiester is a Board Member of the Jawbox Jerky Company who brings more than twenty years of experience in the food and beverage CPG industry. Tom held quality, food safety, and regulatory executive leadership positions for large multinational companies and was responsible for protecting some of the world’s most recognizable brands. Tom brings a keen passion for operational excellence and uncompromising food safety to the Jawbox brand.
Tom earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University and a professional certificate in Manufacturing Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Additionally, Tom is an avid skier and category 5 cyclocross racer who believes in fueling with natural products like Jawbox Jerky.
